Cattle farms, flower farms, vineyards and the fynbos of the Cape Floral Kingdom surround it. The community is small and close-knit: farmers, artists, weekenders and those seeking space and dark skies.

Everyday services, schools and medical facilities are in nearby Gansbaai and Stanford, and the coast, Walker Bay and the wider Overberg are within easy reach.
